Export your contacts
You can export your contacts whenever you like, from the Panel. You get one zip with every contact, their permissions with their proof, the entities, the addresses never written to again and the history.
Exporting needs the holder or the level “Edit and send”. It works while Email is paused too.
Export your contacts
Section titled “Export your contacts”- In Contacts, open “People”.
- Press “Export”. The zip downloads: “The export is in your downloads.”
To export only some, search, add conditions or apply a list first. The button then says how many it exports.
Export one contact
Section titled “Export one contact”- Open the contact’s page.
- Press “Export this contact”.
It holds their details, their permissions and their whole history. Use it when a person asks to see what you keep about them.
What is in the zip
Section titled “What is in the zip”The zip’s name has the day it was made.
| File | What it holds |
|---|---|
contacts.csv | One row per contact: their details, entity, category, tags, and the website they came from |
permissions.csv | Each contact’s permission for each purpose, with its proof |
entities.csv | The entities, with their category, website, address and description |
suppressions.csv | The addresses never written to again, for one purpose or for all, with the reason and the date |
history.csv | What happened to each contact, newest first |
about.txt | What each file holds, in your language |
When you export only some contacts, entities.csv and suppressions.csv hold only theirs. One contact’s zip has no entities.csv or suppressions.csv.
The history never holds what anyone opened or clicked.

How to read them
Section titled “How to read them”- They are CSV files in UTF-8: commas between values, and a first row naming each column. Any spreadsheet opens them.
- The column names are in English, whatever your language.
- Times are in UTC, written year-month-day and then the hour.
- Tags are separated by semicolons.
- A value starting with
=,+,-or@begins with an apostrophe, so a spreadsheet does not read it as a formula. A number, such as a phone, is left as it is.
In the copy of your account
Section titled “In the copy of your account”The copy of your account holds the same files, in the folder services/contacts/. Read Download a copy of your account.
